To ensure your Agent is functioning as intended and delivering accurate results, follow these steps to test its configuration.

To interact with your Agent, select the Chat tab in the top of the Agent's page and type your desired test message, then click Send. Testing is now underway!

1. Test Basic Interactions

  • Why: Verifies the agent understands its role and can interact with datasets effectively.

  • How:

    • Ask simple, specific questions related to the datasets (e.g., "Summarize the qualifications of John Doe").

    • Review the output for clarity, relevance, and adherence to the expected format.

2. Test Edge Cases

  • Why: Ensures the agent handles less common or complex scenarios properly.

  • How:

    • Ask questions outside the typical use case (e.g., "Summarize all candidates with less than 5 years of experience").

    • Verify the agent appropriately follows constraints and provides clear feedback if the request doesn’t align with its configuration.

3. Check Output Format

  • Why: Confirms the results are structured according to your description.

  • How:

    • Compare the agent's output to the specified format (e.g., structured list with names, summaries, and PDF links).

    • Make adjustments to the agent description if the format is inconsistent.

4. Validate Dataset Integration

  • Why: Ensures the agent interacts with the correct datasets.

  • How:

    • Confirm that the responses are based on the uploaded datasets and not generating unrelated or incorrect information.

    • If necessary, recheck the dataset selection in the agent configuration.

5. Simulate Real-World Use Cases

  • Why: Tests the agent in practical scenarios to ensure it meets your needs.

  • How:

    • Create scenarios reflecting your actual use cases (e.g., HR candidate evaluation).

    • Evaluate the accuracy, relevance, and completeness of the agent's responses.

6. Collaborate for Feedback

  • Why: Gathers additional insights from others.

  • How:

    • Share the agent’s link with team members for testing.

    • Collect feedback on usability, clarity, and output quality.

If the Agent is not working as desired, follow the Optimizing Agent Descriptions Guide to adjust your Agent to meet the desired output.

Repeat the process until the desired responses are achieved.
